About the Area: Uvita, Puntarenas Province, Costa Rica / When most people think about Costa Rica, they picture magnificent lush green mountains along with wildlife that tumble directly down onto sandy white beaches where impressive waves wash up under the shady palms. It sounds like a postcard. And it’s exactly what you’ll find here. With near perfect weather all year long, Uvita has warm temperatures during the day and a cool ocean breeze by night.

Located on Costa Rica’s amazingly beautiful Central Pacific coastline, this Uvita is a small town, located north of Ojochal and just 17 km south of Dominical. This town consists a few dirt roads, guesthouses, grocery stores, tiny shops and a scattering of hotels in the jungle covered hills above. It also has a small hub of banks and offices near the main highway. Its dirt roads can lead you to the mountains and hidden neighborhoods neatly tucked into the rainforest. From the main entrance to Uvita, within a short distance you will find little farmers’ market where you can mingle with the local people and can buy honey, locally grown fruit and vegetables, home-cooked foods.

Getting around & to Uvita:
A rental car is highly recommended as most of the national parks, excursions and nice restaurants are spread out. It is not a must as there are taxis in town but that can end up being more expensive.
